I'm good at what I do, at reading people. My instincts are almost never wrong. I can usually tell if they'll be hostile, dependable, or what weakness will break them.
It's not for making friends.
K-2SO was probably my best friend. What do you think that says about me, that I was so close to a droid I mostly reprogrammed myself?
I shudder to think what you might've thought of me upon first meeting.
But I think I have a similar skill. I think we, people like us, have to do that sort of thing in order to survive. It's vital to know who's an enemy, who isn't. Who can be trusted, who can't. It's a matter of life and death for us.
Then you're definitely smarter than the average human.
We can't be right 100% of the time. Even if we are the Great Captain Cassian Andor, we are still allowed to .. make mistakes. We're humans, not droids. And even droids get it wrong sometimes.
You're giving me too much credit. That light is completely your own. Maybe I gave it a little nudge. But you, you were incandescent. It was like a pull I felt toward you, inescapable.
I like this plan. I feel like we're already becoming better people.
A little nudge? More like you gripped it by the short hairs and yanked the thing out of the depths of Mustafar. But maybe ... it was your own light that drew me to you. Recognizing something in each other, being pulled towards one another. That's how I think I like to envision it.
Well, you don't like to brag, so I'm going to say that I'm winning at the "better person" thing. ;)
...can we just pretend like i didn't disappear on you?? >.>

Completely un-sarcastic, by the way.

Unfortunately it has been just that, yes. But I don't know that I have always made the right decisions about people.
Kay would probably agree with you.

You're the great Jyn Erso.
I think I would follow your light anywhere. Suppose that's exactly what I did.
So maybe we should learn how to do this whole people thing together.

YOU brought it out in me. It had been buried and smothered for a very, very long time. You found it somehow, brought it to the surface.
I'd like that. Very much. Worse comes to worse, we can always laugh at other people together.

Well, there never was an argument to win there.
I always knew who the better person was.
of course! <3 no worries :) we're still here!
Now you're just flattering me.
